Andrew Tonon

Sommelier

Andrew represents the fourth generation of his family’s life in hospitality and the next generation of Café | Cortina.

The eldest son of Adrian Tonon, Andrew grew up within the walls of Café | Cortina, learning that hospitality is not simply a profession, but a family tradition built around food, wine, service and bringing people together.

A third-level sommelier, Andrew has developed a particular passion for wine and has played an integral role in curating Café | Cortina’s wine program. His approach balances a respect for the great wine growing traditions of Italy and the world with a curiosity for emerging producers, distinctive vintages and wines that tell a story.

Interestingly, Andrew’s palate began developing long before his interest in wine. A notoriously selective eater as a child, he became fascinated by subtle differences in flavor, texture and aroma. What once made him particular about food ultimately became one of his greatest strengths: an ability to recognize nuance and appreciate the details that distinguish something good from something exceptional.

Today, Andrew brings that sensibility to every bottle he selects and every wine he shares with a guest. For him, wine is never simply about a label or a score, it is about understanding where it came from, the people who made it, and finding the right bottle for the right table.

As Café | Cortina celebrates 50 years, Andrew carries forward a family philosophy that began generations before him: honor tradition, remain curious, and never stop refining the experience.
